Lost Planet 2 shirt color ideas

Lost Planet 2 t-shirt artwork with three Akrid options
I Am 8-Bit Productions called again to get me to produce some t-shirt designs. This time it was for a Lost Planet 2 release party. The twist was that there was to be an interactive component to the shirts. A company in L.A. called Fresh Pressed specializes in custom, on-demand, do-it-yourself screen printing services and they were set up at the event to crank out individual shirts for each party-goer in color and design combinations of their choosing.
My designs had to be created with not only economy and ease in mind (two ink colors + shirt color = maximum choices with minimum screens used) but also be composed to work in every combo. The solution was a main screen with two guys from the game on a landscape, and then the option to pick one of three other screens, each with a different monster (called Akrids in the game) to be looming in the background. One thing that really stuck with me about the game was that these Akrids are HUGE. So even though you don’t know how big those rocky mountain forms are behind the guys, you still get the sense that the monster on the horizon is relatively gigantic.

In practice at the event it looks like the exactness that the two-color designs required in combination with however they set up the equipment and instructed the users produced some shirts with off-register colors. Future designs for this type of live event would be designed with the complimentary-coctailed-non-professional-printer-party-goers in consideration even more so.
