McD Workshop’s Chris McDonnell collaborated with iam8bit Productions again to produce original work for one of their promotional video game events. The event was a Capcom Fight Club party in Los Angeles which featured players competing on consoles, oiled up wrestlers and the lead developer and staffers wearing the design on four different limited edition t-shirt color combos. The same shirt was also included in goodie bags for all the fans that packed the over-capacity event.

The deadline was tight and Chris was able to get one fairly involved but still rough sketch done to send out involving disgusting hand-lettering made of brains, eyes, flesh, blood and variety meats, but it missed the mark and was rejected by marketing for being too “squidgy”. Chris adapted the illustration idea a bit and came up with a solution that still had hand lettering including a bone-letter CAPCOM, explosions, bricks and a few fighters dueling it out across the top.
